James R. Sotell, AIF® - Jim is the Managing Director of the firm and brings over 18 years ERISA experience dealing with Plan Sponsors and 401(k) plans. He previously was a Vice President with Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company. Jim consulted with over 120 Plan Sponsors in implementing their investment strategy and plan design strategy. In his previous role, Jim was responsible for developing and implementing custom education programs for over 200 Plan Sponsors. In addition, Jim was involved on the operational side with Fidelity's institutional retirement customers. Jim holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation. The AIF® Program graduates are specially trained in investment fiduciary responsibility and portfolio management. He completed the FIIRG Investment Management Institute Training conducted by the Harvard Business School. Jim holds a BA in History with a minor in Economics from Hobart College. He also studied at The University of Edinburgh. Jim is a member of the Triangle Benefits Forum. He is currently working with CAI, a non-profit employers' association with over 1,000 member companies, in providing fiduciary training to its membership. Jim has appeared numerous times as a financial expert for NBC-17's Your Money segment.

Cynthia B. Brown, CPA, CEBS - Cynthia has over 20 years experience working with all aspects of retirement plans. Cindy spent seven years with Aon Consulting as an Employee Benefit Consultant. In addition, Cindy was President of a third-party administration firm that provided compliance and recordkeeping services. Cindy has experience as a Plan Sponsor being a former Finance Director. Currently Cindy's role with Comperio is to support clients with plan reviews, provider searches, plan due diligence analysis, investment analysis, compliance issue resolution, plan design and installation, and employee communication. She earned an AB in Political Science and an MBA in Finance from Miami University. Cindy is certified as both a CPA and an Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS). Since 1996, she has volunteered her time with the NC Association of CPAs (NCACPA) and has served as President for the Triangle Chapter and currently serves as the Treasurer for the NCACPA. She is committed to increasing Financial Literacy in the community and has had numerous speaking engagements on this topic. In addition, Cindy has spoken as an expert on 403(b) plans including "What the 403(b) Regulations Mean to Your Plan" at the May 2009 NCACPA Not-For-Profit Conference.

Scott F. Fremer, CEBS - Scott manages the Comperio sales and relationship management efforts in our Western Pennsylvania office. He has over 25 years of ERISA experience assisting Plan Sponsors with their defined benefit and 401(k) plans. During his career, Scott has worked with a large mutual fund company, a large insurance company and the retirement services arm of a national bank. He has consulted with over 200 Plan Sponsors helping to implement customized investment, education and plan design strategies. Scott holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation (CEBS). Co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the CEBS designation is one of the most respected professional credentials in the employee benefits field. Scott holds a BS in Business Administration from Duquesne University. Scott has also appeared in numerous publications and on KDKA-TV's Sunday Business Page speaking on retirement related issues.

Sanjeev G. Kanekal - Sanjeev serves as an Investment Analyst for the Consulting team. His role at Comperio is to perform investment analysis, mutual fund research, investment manager selection and performance measurement. He is also involved in portfolio construction, risk analysis, 401(k) research and defined-benefit plan studies. Sanjeev is currently working towards the CFA designation and has completed the CFA Level 1 Exam. Previously, he worked for 5 years in civil engineering providing consulting services to the Florida Department of Transportation. Sanjeev holds an MBA in Finance from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Science in Engineering from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Charles D. Leedy, CFA - Chuck is heading up our investment analysis research with over 25 years institutional investment experience including 14 years on Wall Street, having worked in the fixed income departments at Goldman Sachs and Salomon Brothers. In addition, Chuck was Investment Director (1994-2003) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for their $1.2B Endowment. He was responsible for manager selection and asset allocation. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Triangle Community Foundation ($120M). Chuck received a B.S. degree in Commerce & Engineering, with a concentration in finance from Drexel University. Chuck has a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School (1984).
