
James R. Sotell, AIF® - Jim has over 17 years ERISA experience dealing with Plan Sponsors and 401(k) plans. He previously was a Vice President with Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company. Jim consulted with over 120 Plan Sponsors in implementing their investment strategy and plan design strategy. In his previous role, Jim was responsible for developing and implementing custom education programs for over 200 Plan Sponsors. In addition, Jim was involved on the operational side with Fidelity's institutional retirement customers. Jim holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation. The AIF® Program graduates are specially trained in investment fiduciary responsibility and portfolio management. Jim is a member of the Triangle Benefits Forum. He completed the FIIRG Investment Management Institute Training conducted by the Harvard Business School . Jim holds a BA in History with a minor in Economics from Hobart College. He also studied at The University of Edinburgh.
Cynthia B. Brown, CPA, CEBS - Cynthia has over 20 years experience working with all aspects of retirement plans. She has served as a plan sponsor, has run a plan administration recordkeeper and has provided consulting services to other plan sponsors. As a benefit consultant, Cindy assisted clients with Plan reviews, provider searches, plan due diligence analysis, investment analysis, compliance issue resolution, plan design and installation, and employee communication. She earned an AB in Political Science and an MBA in Finance from Miami University and is certified both as a CPA and an Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS). She has served as president of the Triangle Chapter of the NCACPA and on the state Board of the same organization
Charles D. Leedy, CFA - Chuck has over 25 years institutional investment experience, which includes 14 years on Wall Street (Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers, C.J. Lawrence). Chuck's prior role was Investment Director at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ($1.2B). He was responsible for money manager selection and asset allocation. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and serves as Co-Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Triangle Community Foundation ($120M). Chuck received a B.S. degree in Commerce & Engineering, with a concentration in finance from Drexel University. Chuck has a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
